Faleh Hassan Al-Maleki has been on trial for over a week now for the murder of his daughter. Al- Maleki was upset with his daughter because she had a boyfriend even though she was supposed to be having an arranged marriage over in Iraq. The prosecution has been calling for an "honor Killing" claiming that the murder was premeditated while the defense has said this was just a tragic mistake. AZCentral has reported the final verdict:
"Faleh Hassan Al-Maleki was found guilty of second-degree murder for killing his daughter Noor, 20, and of aggravated assault for injuring her boyfriend's mother, Amal Khalaf, 41. He was also found guilty of two counts of leaving the scene of a fatal or injury accident."
